The European MARK-AGE study analyzed 362 clinical, molecular and cellular biomarkers from more than 3,300 adults ages 35–74 and distilled the results into two 10-biomarker formulas — one for women, one for men — that produce a single biological-age score. People whose score came out younger than their chronological age tended to have more favorable HDL cholesterol, vitamin D and immune-cell ratios, regardless of how old they actually were. The authors note this is one of several competing biological-age methods that don't always agree with each other, and call for further standardization before a panel like this is used in routine care.
